Third Thursdays Downtown Northfield
Third Thursdays, May through August, 5-8pm- Join your friends and neighbors for this series of free, fun, casual, safe and family-friendly community get-togethers in downtown Northfield. Featuring live entertainment and food for purchase from local vendors!
Good Times @ The Gardens of Castle Rock
Wednesday’s, 6-8:30 pm- The Gardens of Castle Rock is proud to introduce Good Times @ The Gardens Summer Music Series! Need a break in the middle of the work week? We’ve got you! Good Times @ The Gardens is the perfect opportunity to walk the venue, enjoy live music, munch on tasty food, and relax with adult beverages all while enjoying the natural environment.
Independence Day Fireworks
July 4, 10pm- Celebrate the 4th of July in Northfield! The Northfield fireworks display will be held on Tuesday, July 4th starting at 10pm at the Northfield Middle School.
Crazy Daze
July 25 – Don't miss this crazy shopping spree in downtown Northfield! Fantastic bargains, food and fun specials provided by local merchants.
Vintage Band Festival
July 26-27 – A two-day festival providing a joyful, fun and family-friendly atmosphere with eclectic brass music played by bands from all over the world. Audiences of all ages will enjoy the beautiful city of Northfield at both outdoor and indoor venues. Other nearby cities are featured as well. Music and history lovers alike will be engaged by the exceptional and out-of-the-ordinary music experience and emphasis on historical music, dress, dance and ambience.
Defeat of Jesse James Days
Weekend After Labor Day – Yearly on the weekend following Labor Day. Re-enactments of the bank raid, a rodeo, old-time tractor pull, midway, parade, arts festival, arts and crafts shows and much more.
Northfield Rotary Bike Tour
September 7th- The Northfield Rotary Club has organized and operated the Bike Tour as a fundraiser since 1995, 100% volunteer run. Net proceeds raised at this event support Rotary’s local and international service projects and furthers the mission of Rotary by funding projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water and sanitation, and strengthen and sustain local economies.

Riverwalk Market Fair
Saturdays, May 18–October 26, 9am-1pm-This one-of-a-kind open air market has something for everyone, including the area’s best artwork, fine crafts, food artisans, fresh flowers and produce picked from local farms. Each Saturday offers a different blend of musical entertainment and kids’ activities.
Rice County Steam & Gas Engine, Inc. Semi-Annual Show
Labor Day Weekend and Memorial Day Weekend – Swap meet and flea market, tractor pull, consignment auction, displays and exhibits, food vendors, special events and tractor parade. Located on the Dundas Showgrounds just three miles south of Northfield on Highway 3.
Bridge Chamber Music Fest
August 19-24 – The Bridge Chamber Music Festival in Northfield, MN brings world class musicians to a small town setting. With a variety of classical and jazz ensembles we endeavor to thrill audiences with the power and emotion of an intimate performance environment featuring top tier musicians.

Cannon River Clay Tour
August 19 & 20, 10am-5pm– The ceramic artists of the Northfield area invite you to join us Father’s Day weekend for our annual Cannon River Clay Tour. Hosted by 10 local clay artists and 11 guest artists from around the country, this self-guided studio tour and sale will include a wide range of ceramic work. Meet the artists, see where they work and enjoy our hospitality. The four stops on the tour all surround the beautiful community of Northfield.
Northfield Rotary 4 Way Taste
July 20, 5:30-8:30pm- Come sample the best offerings from craft brewers, winemakers, distillers, and cider makers in Northfield and the surrounding area! Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy the beautiful farm and great live music, all while supporting a great cause!
Northfield Garden Tours
July 8 & 9– Take a lovely tour of private gardens in the community. You’ll find an artist in each garden creating a piece of art. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine!
Summer Concert Series
Wednesdays, June-August, 6-7pm- Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, and spend an evening in with good company and great music! This free concert series takes place in Northfield's beautiful parks on Wednesday evenings in June and July and August.
