Group Tours & Itineraries

Planning your Group Tour

A destination like Northfield lends itself well to group tours. Group travelers will enjoy several attractions and venues, including the historic downtown district, the Northfield Historical Society and Museum, Carleton College’s Japanese Garden, the striking St. Olaf College campus and a beautiful Riverwalk along the Cannon River. With so much to see and do, it’s hard to take in everything Northfield has to offer in just one day! Group dining options are plentiful, as are choices for spending a night in Northfield.

The Northfield Convention and Visitors Bureau can help plan a group visit and tour of Northfield and the surrounding area. We can also assist with customizing a portion of an existing tour or excursion. The CVB offers two very popular tours for groups to enjoy:

  • The Outlaw Trail– The route taken by the James-Younger Gang as they rode through the Northfield area in 1876. The tour includes historic buildings, campsites, country roads and a few little towns along the way.

  • Historic Sites and Points of Interest – A sampling of charming, attractive, historic buildings and interesting sites in and around the Northfield area.

The CVB provides a self-guided tour brochure of both these tours. A tour guide service is available for tour buses and large groups when reservations are made in advance of a visit. Let us help you plan your next group tour in Northfield!
